Proenza Schouler Designers Keynote Speakers at IFB Blogging Conference

This Independent Fashion Bloggers' conference is turning into a Fashion Week extravaganza:

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the geniuses behind Proenza Schouler, will be the main and major speakers during this coming Fashion Week's blogging conference at Milk studios in NYC (February 10-11, 2011).

Past conferences have included panel discussions with veteran fashion bloggers Susie Bubble, BrianBoy and Tavi, whose youth and insightful posts, to say nothing of her eclectic style, runway-impeding bow hats and collaboration with Jane Pratt, have put her on the fashion world's map.

This conference will also feature workshops, panels and talks by Refinery29, Pretty Shiny Sparkly and Rachna Shah of PR/Production firm KCD.

Stay tuned. I'll be there.

This one's for you, Charlie C!

Wow.

Snow Escape

I think this says it all about this morning's weather!

Fifteen inches, no bus service, schools closed and more white stuff on the way.

Have a gorgeous, winter white-out snow day.

Snow, Glorious Snow

Another day...

Another blizzard.

The Man in the (Hybrid) Gray Flannel Suit

Ever the iconoclast,

Cold Storage?

I don't think so!

I think someone may have misplaced their puffer coat today. Though the snow is simply gorgeous outside, it's super sloppy and wet.
I think someone's gonna need this coat today. And in a very bad way!

In the past, the runways of the Paris menswear shows used to advocated pure fantasy, the dark, twisted and amazingly creative minds of the French design world always a dramatic breath of fresh air after the functional, all-business tailoring of the Milanese troops.

But recently,

Sartorial Sportswear, Anyone? After the Paris Menswear Runway Shows

How 'bout it? Sartorial sportswear, anyone? Savile Row meets Easy Street?  We need a new tag.

Long Live the Holiday Lights

Let 'em light, let 'em last.

I'm all for holiday lights lasting waaaay past the holidays, at least well into January. And, heck, why not into February, too? We all start to feel to so glum around that time. It gets dark so early, it can be bitter cold, it's a bleak time of year. Why not have something a little festive that lasts long after the Winter Solstice before the next happy holiday hits (Valentine's Day, which, granted, for some can bring more pain than pleasure).
