New York Fashion Week wraps today, its last season at the Bryant Park tents. Will you be starving for more runway after that?
Fill up on this: next Thursday night check out Astor Center's serving of Robert Kushner's foodie/fashion "runway" extravaganza, a revival of his 1972 performance piece, Robert Kushner and Friends Eat Their Clothes. Dressing ten nude models in edible costumes ~ fruits + vegetables never sounded so appealing! ~ Kushner will be less Rodarte, more Red Apple, with epaulettes of asparagus fingers instead of bird feathers, but his work is sure to stimulate + satiate.
Kushner's main dish kicks off Gastronomica Forum: FoodFashion, an evening of panelists, moderated by intellectual glossy Gastronomica: The Journal of Food and Culture, who will explore the use of food in fashion + photography. Hear discussion from food stylist Susan Spungen and gallery owner + writer Steve Kasher, among others, then view James Rosenow's specially-commissioned video, "Food Fashionation."

Ummm, brings new meaning to "Waiter, there's a fly in my soup."
