Proenza Schouler designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough wrapped up today's Independent Fashion Blogger conference "Evolving Influence" at Milk Studios.
They talked of how fast fashion has become these days -- four collections instead of two for them, how
the samples for next Wednesday's runway show are just now beginning to arrive from Italy and how they had to do a fitting via Skype the other day. It didn't go well.
Hernandez went old school at some points, referencing VHS tapes, Blockbuster, Elsa Klensch and accessing WWD online via a dial-up modem connection. But they read and get inspiration from the fashion blogs, in fact 10% of their mood boards, they said, come from personal style blogs.
And if they could meet anyone, either dead or alive? Designer Christian Dior and President Barack Obama.
