CARR Sets Throttle at Full Speed Ahead

George Carr has the pedal pressed firmly to the metal these days.

Gearing up to celebrate the second anniversary of its inception, CARR, the dream collection homage to George's late brother Zack Carr, the beloved former Calvin Klein designer, is revving its engines as the green flag drops.

A new full scale showroom, a former sewing factory for Isaac Mizrahi, boasts views toward the west and sits smack in middle of the Fashion District. The collection, driven by both men's and women's clothing, accessories and bootwear, shares space with key ambient signature mood pieces, an inspiration "table" and a buying board that shows the takes of retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue.

Saks will debut the men's collection this August in six markets -- B. Hills, South Coast Plaza/Orange County, Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas and NYC. Bloomingdale's 59th Street launches the women's collection with a CARR shop that will live on the fourth floor sometime this August.

Based on the Texas-based Carr family history and sketchbook upon sketchbook of Zack's fashion croquis bequeathed to George, Zack's indelible mark manifests in the romantic and streamlined nature of the clothes, as George and team CARR execute with impeccable precision, quality and detail in the tailoring of fine Italian and British fabrics.

With the jacket a Zack Carr signature piece, day plays with super 100s, often belted for her or detailed with 4-button, 4-pocket treatments for him. Evening seduces with metallic-infused or velvet textures, while weekend embraces patina'd leathers in charcoal or oxblood.

A look at some of the key women's and men's pieces, here, includes signature belt buckles designed with Texas ranch-style fence graphics, boots made by Texan great Lucchese, and ties highlighted with the CARR cattle skull logo. Love those patent leather Lucchese kickers!
