To paraphrase Rick Nelson, I went to a garden party...there was magic in the air.
Strapless pleated lace dress with rose gold gladiator tie-ups
From Federico Fellini's quote on the run of show, "No matter what happens, always keep your childhood innocence..." to Candela designer Gabriela Perezutti cooing to
her twin girls, "Look what Mommy made," as she scooted them around her romantic offerings, that garden party magic created a synergistic energy in the long romantic dresses, Victorian blouses and embellished skirts at the Candela presentation in The Box at Lincoln Center yesterday.
The designer taking her twin girls to see "what mommy made"!
The designer's Uruguayan roots resulted in folk art embroidery on a gauze tunic, tiers of lace, ruffles and sequins on gowns and long skirts, poppy printed sundresses and lace shorts, all paired with, as Perezutti pointed out, an unexpected shoe, one of the backbones of this collection. Perezutti told editors the collection was about "falling in love."
We agree. We absolutely have fallen in love...with Candela!
