The divine Joey Arias after his Henry Street Settlement (Abrons Art Center) performance Friday night...parts hysterical, sad, poignant...but ALWAYS fun and engaging.
Arias with a Twist Deluxe showcases the creative legend of smoldering diva Arias and his incredible vocal range mixed with the magic of master puppeteer Basil Twist and his transporting sets and scrims. The Dream Orchestra and the throw-back torch song sensibility was lovely, combined with my favorite "probing" rendition of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir.
We'd seen the performance a couple of years ago at Here Theater, and relished the opportunity (thanks to my friend, Barb!) to be a part of the expanded event.
This week is the last week. Go see it before it's gone!
