Rochambeau AW12 MBFW

At their second season showing at MBFW as part of the W Hotels' Fashion Next presentation, Rochambeau designers Joshua Cooper and Laurence Chandler (the label is French for "rock-paper-scissors") said they were "very excited at how the collection came together so quickly" -- inspiration was culled from "mythology behind holidays," with a focus on natural materials like lots of skins, furs and wools...and "pagan, runic symbolism," i.e.: fringed leather medicine pouches worn around necks.

The clothing had sort of an edgy wild man meets pioneer outlaw attitude to it, with fuller harem pants or drop-crotch silhouettes interspersed among skinny stovepipe trousers, drape-y asymmetric closures on jackets, leather trim detailing and a lot of bias seaming.
